Kids in the Hall &
RENT,
May 8th, 13th - 15th,
David's pick |
The Grove of Anaheim has some awesome events this
week. It all starts off with one of my favorite
comedy acts from the late 80's & early 90's, Kids in
the Hall. They will be performing some new stuff and
all their classic material this Thursday night.
Also, RENT will be in town next Tuesday through
Thursday. RENT is a phenomenon that transformed how
a generation feels about musicals. It's the
theatrical experience that changed Broadway forever,
and inspired a major motion picture.

Tradition by Pascal has been serving up superior
French cuisine in Newport Beach for many years,
so if you are looking for French cuisine in the
OC, this is the place to go. When we
arrived Sunday evening around 5pm (btw- no
corking fee on Sunday) the
restaurant was completely empty, we were shocked but we loved
it. It's not that often that you have an entire
staff focusing on just your meal at a fine
dining establishment. To start our dinner off we
ordered the
Endive Salad and some Escargot. The salad
consisted of both
red and yellow endive lettuce with a sweet mustard
dressing, accompanied with toasted
walnuts and pear confit; it was excellent. The
escargot was prepared with roasted pine nuts and
served in drawn garlic butter. This escargot
dish was first-rate and it got my taste buds
going for our main course. After these starters,
we noticed more customers arriving - Oh well,
nothing last forever. For the main course we
ordered the grilled Prime Top Sirloin and the Sea Bass au
Thyme (a house specialty). The top sirloin was
cooked perfectly with sautéed wild mushrooms and
a green peppercorn brandy sauce accompanied with potato gratin. Their house
specialty, the Sea Bass au Thyme, was a
knock-out. This dish was superb and by far the
highlight of the meal. The sea bass is pretty
straight forward baked sea bass with a thyme
crust and it was marvelous.
Great French cuisine is hard to come by here in
the OC and Tradition by Pascal is the crème de
la crème. We had a great dining experience, we
were very impressed and
we know you will be too.
