Knott's Halloween Haunt, Now - November 1st, Quinn's pick
Knott's Halloween Haunt Like me, the world's first, largest and longest running theme park Halloween extravaganza only gets better with age. =^.^= Come celebrate 36 years of your gravest fears at Knott's Halloween Haunt. This ghoulish granddaddy of all Halloween celebrations has been resurrected for 28 nights of fright. Halloween Haunt transforms the family friendly Knott’s Berry Farm into a 160-acre living horror movie filled with 13 chilling mazes, 7 hair-raising shows, three horrific scare zones and 1,000 monsters roaming for their next victim. Halloween Haunt is a scary event and definitely not recommended for children under 13. The Halloween Haunt at Knott’s Scary Farm is a special ticket event and not included in the regular admission price.

Ducks Home Opener, October 12th, David's pick
Ducks Home Opener The boys of winter are back. The Ducks are looking to go back to the Stanley Cup finals this year. During the off-season the Ducks added some new players to their roster like Brendan Morrison and Steve Montador. They also sign some key players like Teemu Selanne to contract extensions. This year should be a good one, they have all the components to make a great team this year. Their home opener is this Sunday at 5pm. Great seats are still available through ticketmaster.com.

Masters of the Night: The True Story of Bats, October 4th - January 4th, Quinn's pick
MASTERS OF THE NIGHT: THE TRUE STORY OF BATS is highlighted Oct. 4 – Nov. 2, during Discovery Science Center’s annual Spooky Science event. Participate in fun science experiments, enjoy trick-or-treat goodie bags and explore a spooky 3-D maze. It’s a SPOOKtacular good time! Hang with the bats, explore their cave homes and hear them communicate in this exciting display of nocturnal knowledge! MASTERS OF THE NIGHT: THE TRUE STORY OF BATS dispels popular misconceptions about bats, describes their ecological importance and gives visitors an appreciation of the true wonders of the bat world. I love the Discovery Science Center, it's both fun and educational - a great place for kids to have fun and learn.

Paton Oswalt, October 13th, David's pick
Patton Oswalt Patton Oswalt is probably most known for his voice of "Remy the Rat," in Pixar's blockbuster hit, Ratatouille. Well, he is also one of the best stand-up comedians out there too, but his name isn't up there with the Chris Rocks just yet. Paton has been headlining comedy clubs all over the U.S. since 1996 and he also spent nine seasons playing Spence on CBS's hit show, King of Queens. He's done three stand-up specials, one for HBO and a one hour special for Comedy Central. Paton is in town for one night and one show only. View some of his comedy clips on youtube.com before you go to see if his comedy is for you.

Head to Toe Women's Expo, October 10th - 12th, Quinn's pick
Head to Toe Women's Expo As kids are back in school and the holidays approach, women throughout the Orange County region can take a quick break from their hectic, overscheduled lives to relax with their girlfriends at the ultimate day out for women - the Head to Toe Women's Expo! Set for October 10, 11 and 12 at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, more than 10,000 members of the "girlfriend brigade" are expected to attend the ultimate weekend for women. Attendees can stroll through a village of apparel, jewelry, handbags, accessories, wine, gourmet foods, and home décor. New this year to the Orange County Head to Toe Women's Expo is the appearance by Constance Ramos, color specialist and host of HGTV's Color Correction.

Tina Turner, October 14th, David's pick
Tina Turner Big wheels keep on turning!!! Eight-time Grammy Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alumni Tina Turner will bring her long-awaited 17-city North American tour to Anaheim for one unforgettable concert on Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 at Honda Center. With a brand new stage show, fans will be treated to hit after hit spanning Turner’s entire career. The spectacular production will include the singer’s top-notch band, innovative choreography, hi-tech lighting and much more.
