Trail Information
Full Review: If I could figure out which part of the brain compels
people to spray their tags all over cliffs and boulders, I'd sponsor a
nationwide campaign to have that piece surgically removed at birth. At
present, however, all I can do is whine that this otherwise beautiful
natural area is so littered with graffiti that it's a hard to find a
paint-free vantage point.
Even so, the trail's proximity to residential Pasadena makes it a hit among
local hikers, especially those with small children. And the waterfall itself
- graffiti aside - is one of the more impressive cascades in the region.
From the Nature Center, walk to the end of the parking lot and past the gate
to the unpaved trails. Keep to the right of the outdoor classroom and take
the wide path across Eaton Canyon Wash. At the other end of the wash, turn
left onto the Eaton Canyon Trail. Follow this exposed trail along the wash
for about a mile.
When you reach the Eaton Canyon Falls junction, go left on a narrow path
that takes you under the Mt. Wilson Toll Road bridge and into the narrow
canyon. The trail crosses the creek several times on the way to the falls.
When you reach the end, go back the way you came.
